MAMMOTH MAMMOTH are a heavy rock band from Melbourne Australia

With mixture of stoner, glam, doom, punk and psychodelic influences.

They describe their sound as ‘Good-time-murder-fuzz’ – and it’s consequent effect as, ‘capable of killing unicorns’ and ‘more awesome than God’s tits!’

The band endured several dramas and setbacks before plying its first live shows (Their chosen launch venue , Cherry Bar, burning down, Singer Mikey Tucker being hospitalised after a brawl with a gang of hammer wielding thugs and Bassist and Guitarist Ben and Gash surviving a shoot out in Melbourne strip club, Kitten’s).

However, their first lives shows did manage to provide them immediate media attention.
Their physical, no holds barred approach and front man, Mikey Tucker’s reckless performances gained them an immediate and dedicated following.

In that year they we’re voted among the top 5 live shows by Melbourne’s premier Newspaper, The Age E.G guide.

Their first EP, which was released prior to any live shows and was popular in Europe and Australia with several tracks licenced to commercials and the feature length Horror film, The Loved One’.

Their first video clip was banned. It used 1970s European pornography and was pulled from youtube, myspace and facebook – but not before it had over 1 million views and probably as many complaints.

Live, the band has played a number of festivals and toured Australia with Airbourne. They play regular headline shows as well as supporting both local and international acts.

On the release of their third recorded album they we’re approached and signed by European heavy rock and metal label, Napalm Records and have gained attention in European Magazines like Germany’s Metal Hammer and France’s Heavy Magazine. They are currently planning a European tour for 2013 to support the album.
